Debra completed her undergraduate degree in Sociology at Acadia University, Wolfville, Nova Scotia. After graduating she moved to Grande Prairie, Alberta, accepting the position of Executive Director of the South Peace AIDS Council, now HIV North.
Her career included the role of Addiction Counsellor and Project Coordinator before completing her MBA at the University of Calgary. Debra has worked in addiction, mental health and harm reduction for more than 25 years in the roles of Project Manager, Director Addiction and Mental Health and most recent Provincial Manager of the Harm Reduction Services Team. She has been with Alberta Health Services for more than 15 years.
